Leading our team is Cory Armstrong, a pioneer in aluminum boat construction with decades of experience, particularly in catamarans. With a career dedicated to building and refining aluminum boats, Cory has likely produced more aluminum catamarans than anyone in North America. His expertise, paired with our skilled team of engineers, designers, welders, and craftsmen, ensures we deliver some of the finest aluminum vessels on the market.

The Armstrong Story - where we started
Owned and operated by Cory Armstrong. Cory built his career with Armstrong Marine, a family run business pioneering the industry in aluminum catamarans since the early 1990’s.
Spending nearly 20 years of his career with Armstrong Marine, overseeing the design and fabrication of hundreds of aluminum vessels. In 20Cory moved on and founded his own venture; ACI Boats. Today, ACI Boats is a successful and sought after builder of aluminum boats, with a primary focus on catamarans.
Cory grew up in the remote islands off British Columbia, where his parents settled after sailing up to Canada from San Francisco in 1968. Living completely off grid and traveling to school by way of a wooden paddle boat, Cory began working in metal shops and learning how to weld at a young age. Cory and his brother built their first boat together as teens, eager for a faster way to get to school; A small aluminum skiff with an Evinrude outboard. Going to school during the day and working at night, Cory learned the importance of efficiency, and strong work ethic. By 17 years old Cory was the lead night welder at Western Aluminum Craft. Cory went on to gain extensive hands-on experience within the industry. Along with founding Armstrong Marine, Cory was also involved in Moose Boats, a successful Aluminum Boat builder in Vallejo, CA.
He holds a USCG 100 Ton Master license, with an Auxiliary Sail & Towing Endorsement, with sea time logged in waters around the world. He is a certified CWB welder and superviseor, private pilot, and scuba diver. A strong believer in designing and implementing efficient business and production processes, Cory is an advocate for Lean Manufacturing and in 2014 became a certified ISO auditor.
